We provide prompt CONFIDENTIAL assessment and treatment for the full range of psychological issues (i.e. depression, anxiety, addiction, gambling, relationship problems, career transition, etc).

The Rugby Players' Association

We provide education and training to athletes, coaches and administrators in all areas related to mental health and wellbeing.

Our education series includes mental health awareness, drug & alcohol awareness and resilience training.

We support player associations in their design and delivery of player development and player welfare services.

We are experienced in advising player associations and governing bodies on a range of issues relating to the identification and management of psychological health concerns, behavioural problems and risk management related to the demands of elite sport.

We provide comprehensive services and consultation to individuals, teams and sporting bodies focusing on sports performance, personal development and psychological wellbeing. In the area of sports performance we work on developing psychological skills at different levels.

At foundation skills level the main aspects are motivation, commitment, attitude, self-belief and related areas.

With performance skills we focus on goal-setting, cognitive control, affect control (self-regulation), decision-making under pressure, coping with adversity (recovery strategies) and individual zones of optimal functioning (through HRV and biofeedback).

Our facilitative skill work covers learning and development (life skills, communication and leadership), team and group cohesion (task cohesion and developing a shared mental model) and clinical sport psychology (performance dysfunction, performance impairment and performance termination).

LPP are delighted to have been appointed as the Honorary on call Psychiatric Specialists for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

Our team of experts led by Dr Philip Hopley will be providing emergency advice and consultation to any of the 10,000+ athletes competing at the Games presenting with acute psychiatric problems.
